Maths in Holy Qur'an

Maths In Quran Dr. Tariq Al Swaidan discovered some verses in the Holy Quran that mention one thing is equal to another, i.e, the number of words for man and women are equal.

Although this makes sense mathematically, the astonishing fact is that the number of times the word man appears in the Quran is 24 and number of times the word woman appears is also 24, therefore not only is this phrase correct in the grammatical sense but also true
mathematically: 24=24.

Upon further analysis of various verses, he discovered that this is consistent throughout the whole Quran, where it says one thing is like another. See below for the astonishing results:-

The word number of times mentioned in Arabic Quran:
Dunia (one name for life) 115 . Aakhirat (one name for the lifeafter) 115
Malaikat (Angels) 88 . Shaytan (Satan) 88
Life 145 . Death 145
Benefit 50 . Corrupt 50
People 50 .Messengers 50
Eblees (king of devils) 11 . Seek refuge from Eblees 11
Museebah (calamity) 75 . Thanks 75
Spending (Sadaqah) 73 . Satisfaction 73
People who are misled 17 . Dead people 17
Muslimeen 41 . Jihad 41
Gold 8 . Easy life 8
Magic 60 . Fitnah (dissuasion, misleading) 60
Zakat ( Taxes Muslims pay to the poor) 32 . Barakah (Increasing or blessings of wealth) 32
Mind 49 . Noor 49
Tongue 25 . Sermon 25
Desire 8 . Fear 8
Speaking publicly 18 . Publicising 18
Hardship 114 . Patience 114
Muhammed 4 . Sharee*ah (Muhammed's teachings) 4
Man 24 . Women 24

And amazingly enough have a look how many times the following words appear:-
Solat 5;
Month 12;
Day 365;
Sea 32;
Land 13;
Sea + land = 32+13= 45%
Sea=32/45*100=71.11111111% Land=13/45*100= 28.88888889=100.00
Modern science has only recently proven that the water covers 71.111% of the earth, while the land covers 28.889%.

Is this a coincidence? Who taught Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) all this?
Allah, the All Mighty taught him this. As the Quran tells us.

Beach Bash!!

After a very tiring but enjoyable day at Tasek Lama, we managed to persuaded Tc Sharinah to bring us to the famous Muara Beach. Although we had to squeezed in Tc Sharinah's van,(only God knows how it feels!) As soon as we arrived, we searched for a shaddy spot to rest. The first thing we do was, a walk on the 'Massaging Stone' or else. When thirst occured, we decided to buy some beverages. Then, we 'attacked' aka played at the playground. What a sight to see us, teenagers, playing with the other children! After that, we filled our hungry stomach with nourishment. However, it wouldn't be called as 'A day at the beach' without sightseeing along the calm, a kind of blue beach. Fortunately, the weather coorperated with us. It was a sunny but windy day. Some of us, collected sea shells. Others, made sand castle- if only we could called it sand castle! We even played with the water- just a few splash! Just before going back home/school, we bought more drinks. We're teenagers, so we need lots of nutrients to grow normally! By the end of the day, we hadn't lost our energy, yet. We even talked and joked through out the way back home/school. Such an unforgetable and knowledgable day we had. Thank you Tc Sharinah and family who had willing to bring us exploring our country's nature and made our holiday filled with useful activities. p/s We want more!!!!

HOLIDAY ACTIVITY

TASEK LAMA-BSB-THURSDAY,18/6/2009. Today we are going to tasek lama to have our holiday activities there, we arrive there at 8 o'clock in the morning. The first thing we do is walking around and also jogging there to make us familiar with that place. While walking we also take our pictures there. After that we prepare our foods and drinks for our breakfast before we do our next activities. Then , we start our first games, the one who can eat 5 small chocolates with the fastest time will be the winner and get a prize. Our winner for the first game is our president, HELMI. Bringing the ball with the spoon and handle by our mouth is our next games, again the winner is our president. Before we continue the 3rd activity, we take a rest first. After a few minutes, we continue with our activity. This game is the most fun games, we have to (meniup balloon sampai pacah),haha sorry for the language..The fourth game is we have to find a small ball that have an improper fraction on it, the one who can get the ball with the fastest time will be the winner... Then, we go up the hill ( hiking ). The path is very dangerous, so we need to be very carefull, but it is really fun.. and we enjoy it very much =)

Do you know that Greeks find it very hard to write down equations and number problems?

Because the Greeks had only very clumsy ways of writing down numbers,they didn't like algebra.

instead,Greeks mathematicians were more focused on geometry,and used geometric methods to solve problems that you might use algebra for.

They were also very interested in proving that certain mathematical ideas were true.
So they spent a lot of time using geometry to prove that things are always true,even though people like Egyptians and Babylonians already knew that they were true most of the time anyway.

The Greeks in general,were very interested in rationality,in things making sense and hanging together.They wanted to tie up the loose ends.They liked music,because music followed strict rules to produce beauty.So did architecture and so did mathematics.

Interesting and Little-Known Algebra and Geometry Facts

Here are a few helpful and neat little facts that evade most students and teachers of algebra and geometry:

a) Though everyone can factor a^2 - b^2, a^3 - b^3, a^3 + b^3 and a^4 - b^4, most folks do not know that:
a^4 + b^4 = (a^2 + ab(sqrt(2)) + b^2) (a^2 - ab(sqrt(2)) + b^2

b) An approximation exists for the factorial function (for large n) which seems hardly related but works:
Stirling's Formula ---> n! ~~ e^(-n) n^n sqrt(2 (pi) n)

c) The area of any regular polygon of n sides, each of length x, is given by:
Area = (1/4)nx^2 (cot(180°/n))

d) The radii of circumscribed (R) and inscribed (r) circles within such regular polygons are given by:
R = (x/2) csc (180°/n) and r = (x/2) cot (180°/n)

e) The radius of a circle inscribed within any triangle of sides a, b, and c with semi-perimeter s is given by:
r = (sqrt (s (s-a) (s-b) (s-c)) / s

e) The radius of a circle circumscribed about any triangle of sides a, b, and c with semi-perimeter s is given by:
R = abc / 4 (sqrt (s (s-a) (s-b) (s-c))

f) The perimeter P and area A of polygons (of n sides) inscribed in a circle of radius r is given by:
P = 2nr sin(pi/n) and A = (1/2) nr^2 sin (2pi/n)

g) The perimeter P and area A of polygons (of n sides) circumscribed about a circle of radius r is given by:
P = 2nr tan (pi/n) and A = nr^2 tan (pi/n)

h) Factoring the seemingly prime expression a^4 + 4b^4 becomes (and there are a family of these)
a^4 + 4b^4 = (a^2 + 2b^2)^2 - (2ab)^2 (thanks to N. Hobson)

25th March 2009 Math Jokes

Teacher: If I gave you three rabbits today and five rabbits tomorrow, how many rabbits would you have?
Jackie: Nine.
Teacher: That's not right, you'd have eight.
Jackie: No, Teacher, I'd have nine.
I already have one rabbit at home!

If you add 3452 and 3096, then divide the answer by 4 and multiply by 6, what would you get?The wrong answer !

Who invented fractions?
Henry the Eighth !

"Our teacher has a bad memory. For three days she asked us how much is two and two.
We told her it was four.
But she still doesn't know. Today she asked us again!"

Birds on the mountain,
Fish in the sea,
How you passed math
Is a mystery to me.

How are you doing in arithmetic ?
I've learned to add up the zeros, but the numbers are still giving me trouble.

What makes arithmetic hard work ?
All those numerals you have to carry.

Fred: I got 100 in school today.
Mother: Wonderful. What did you get 100 in?
Jason: Two things: I got 50 in Spelling and 50 in History.
Mother: Well, at least you can add !

I got 100 in an arithmetic test and still didn't pass.
Why not, for goodness sake?
Because the answer was 200.
Why are misers good math teachers ?
They know how to make every penny count !
It take 13 Muscles to produce a smile so don't forget to smile
and laugh as loud as you can because
this is just for you!

Fun Math Jokes

24th March 2009 Math Jokes

The teacher was reviewing counting with her first-grade class. "Jackie," she asked, "can you count to 10 without mistakes?"
"Yes," said Jackie, and she did.
"Now, Fred," said the teacher, "can you count from 10 to 20?"
"That depends," said Fred, "with or without mistakes"!

Teacher: Can you count to 10?
Jackie: Yes, teacher. (counting on her fingers at waist level) One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
Teacher: Good. Now can you count higher?
Jackie: Yes, teacher. (She puts her hands over her head and counts on her fingers.) One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.

Teacher: Can you count to 10?
Fred: Yes, teacher-one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
Teacher: Now go on from there.
Fred: Jack, Queen, King.

Teacher: If I lay one egg here and another there, how many eggs will there be?Fred: None!
Teacher (surprised): Why not?
Fred: Because you can't lay eggs!

TEACHER: Jackie, take 932 from 1,439. What is the difference?
Stella: That's what I say, what's the difference`?

Fred: I've added these figures ten times.
Teacher: Good work!
Fred: And here are my ten answers !

Why is a dog with a lame leg like adding 6 and 7s?
He puts down the three and carries the one.

Why is six afraid of seven ?
Because seven ate nine.

What animal is best at math ?
Rabbits, they multiply fastest !

My dog is great at math.
Really ?
Ask him how much is two minus two.
But two minus two is nothing!
That's what he'll answer, nothing!

23rd March 2009 math Jokes

I failed every subject except for algebra.
How did you keep from failing that ?
I didn't take algebra !
Teacher: Are you good at math ?
Pupil: Yes and no
Teacher: What do you mean ?
Pupil: Yes, I'm no good at math !
Dad, can you help me find the lowest common denominator in this problem please ?
Don't tell me that they haven't found it yet, I remember looking for it when I was a boy !
Teacher: Did you parents help you with these homework problems ?
Pupil: No I got them all wrong by myself !
Teacher, I can't solve this problem.
Any five year old should be able to solve this one.
No wonder I can't do it then, I'm nearly ten !
Teacher: What's 2 and 2
Pupil: 4
Teacher: That's good
Pupil: Good ?, that's perfect !
Teacher: If 1+1=2 and 2+2=4, what is 4+4 ?
Pupil: That's not fair you answer the easy ones and leave us with the hard one !
Teacher: How much is half of 8
Pupil: Up and down or across ?
Teacher: What do you mean ?
Pupil: Well,up and down makes a 3 or across the middle leaves a 0
Teacher: Now class, whatever I ask, I want you to all answer at once. How much is six plus 4 ?
Class: At once !

OUR CLUB's DIARIES

18th Feb o9
Today we play with interactive games, not just any simple game but games that really challenge our brain. Some of the games are Sudoku, Traffic Jams, and Puzzle balls. Thanks to Tc Sharinah for providing it. You must been wondering why we play these games and not doing any works? It is for our treat for doing all the quiz like giving it out to the students and doing it during our break time. At the end of the day, we agree to have a ‘Sudoku’ tournament. A few of us groan as we can’t solve it less than 5 minutes, while others grins as the are confident they can solve it less than 5 minutes. Show-off!! Can you solve ‘Sudoku’ in less than 5 minutes? So, if you have the time, sit back and challenge yourself >_<

25th Feb 09
Yeah! The day we’ve been waiting for!! It is time for our own versions of ‘Amazing Race’ It called ‘Treasure Hunt’. Helmi and Fatin as the facilitators who faces many problems in finding a suitable place to hide the flags without the other students knowing it!
We are divided into 3 groups ; Flag Blue : Sufian, Amir, Adib.
Flag green; Husna ,Zawanah, Zati. Flag Pink:Zafirah, Yumni, Atiqah.
At the end, the flag blue group wins. They really proud so they show-off to us during break time! They win $10 cash from Tc Sharinah and they spend it at canteen without sharing with us! Stingy!
And the sad part is when our group( Flag Green) search for the last flag, actually our flag has been thrown away into the dust bin!!! I am very confident that we could win but just because of that incident, we lost!
Anyway, we also diced our lucky winners for ‘Quiz Shapes Around You’.

4th March 09
As I entered the Home Science room, I could smelled the aroma of fried onions and I could feel the heat of the boiling spaghetti! Perhaps you had guessed, we were cooking! It was time for our ‘Be A Good Chef’ day. Our Ameture Chef, Aslam, provided the recipes for “Spaghetti Bolognoise’ and ‘Iced-Blended Mocha Coffee!! Haha, I know that you’re drooling all over your mouth right now. Wiped it now so I could continue my story.
So, then girls were incharged for chopping, washing and cooking. While the boys, prepared the drinks. We tried to make the drinks about several times until we get it ‘tastier’ than it supposed to.
The objectives is for us to know how to measures correctly and to know how to help each others.
I’ll give you the recipe, so won’t be begging me .. Refer OUR Recipes
